Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is coordinating a response with the Synod of the Sun Partnership for Disaster Recovery and Mission Presbytery following flash flooding in the Texas Hill Country that resulted in more than 100 lives lost. The response includes support for Mission Presbytery staff and volunteers, material aid such as flood buckets and more. Recovery work is ongoing, and assessment of the long-term needs is just beginning.

God, who shaped the waters of chaos into Creation, we come before you brokenhearted, overwhelmed by the power of raging waters inundating this place of beauty and respite, leaving terror and sorrow in its wake. We thank you for the lives saved in the midst of this devastation. We grieve with those who have lost their loved ones. Comfort and console them, O God, as we stand with them in your love. Amen.
