Every two years, Presbyterians gather from all across the country to worship together, to pray, and to collectively discern the work of the Holy Spirit. The General Assembly is made up of 1/2 clergy and 1/2 lay leadership and makes important decisions about the direction of the church as a whole. GA 225 runs from June 18 – July 9, 2022.

You can participate in worship and follow the work of the committees through the GA Website: https://ga-pcusa.org/ This year’s theme is “From Lament to Hope.”

Our Presbytery, Blackhawk, is sending four commissioners who will speak and vote for us. Please pray for Revs. Christina and John and Elders Micheal and Annabell. The Presbytery submitted one overture, TWE-04, regarding Worship Resources for Veterans. We also concurred with two overtures from other presbyteries: ENV-07 which is on On Fossil Fuel Divestment and ENV-08 On Declaring the Time Is Now to “Cherish Creation, Cut Carbon, and Speak Up.” You can learn about these environmental overtures as well as other proposals here.
